Studenti bi trebali naučiti prepoznati utjecaj niskih razina dopamina u mozgu nakon prekomjerne droge. Taj je pad primarni uzrok ponavljajuće uporabe droga. Da bi ovaj koncept bio što utjecajniji, važno je razgovarati o tome kako funkcionira mozak nagradni sustav i kako ga lijekovi modificiraju.
U ovoj će aktivnosti učenici usporediti učinak dopamina u "prirodnom visokom", poput vježbanja, druženja itd. S dopaminskim učinkom lijeka. Iako se navedeni primjer u ovoj aktivnosti može upotrijebiti kao obrazovni dijagram za učenike, korisno im je da prvo naprave svoj vlastiti! Studenti će kreirati grafikon kako bi usporedili učinak dopamina, zajedno s vizualnim kako bi im pomogli da se sjete.
Ova se aktivnost može izmijeniti za popunjavanje učenika nakon predavanja ili za one koji trebaju dodatne skele. Ostavljanje praznih ćelija „visokih“ i „niskih“ studentima će ispuniti pomoći u stvaranju veze sa sadržajem. Ili uklonite crtu na grafikonu i ne označite mozak.
