There are so many interesting people in the world, and there is so much to learn about them. Besides the regular information that kids research, it is fun for them to learn random things about a person that not everyone may know! These can help bring their person to life, and students might find things they can relate to. For this activity, students will create a 3-4 cell storyboard highlighting fun facts about the person they have studied. This activity makes a great first step in a larger biography project.

Due Date:
Objective: Create a 3-4 cell storyboard detailing fun facts about your person.
Student Instructions:
Students may initially be confused about exactly what a fun fact is. Work together to model finding fun facts, so they can then do it on their own.
Students may need scaffolding to help create titles. Choosing the right word for the job comes quite easily to some but is much harder for others. Practice makes progress!
Once students find the key random facts, assist them with their summaries. They should write them in their own words, and change the order from the original.
A good storyboard tells the story in pictures, and this is a fun step for students. Assist them in drawing the fun fact to further develop their storyboard.
When thinking about fun facts as you read biographies, you will be astounded at what might come up. People lead interesting lives and do strange and remarkable things. Whether related to their jobs, family, or ways they spend their free time, there are always random and interesting things to learn about people.
Just like every person is different, each biography is unique. As you read, you will find different, interesting, random facts about people that set them apart from others. No two people are alike, and no two people have the same fun facts!
