Die cutting is the process of using a die to cut out a certain shape of a physical material, like card-stock.
Die cuts are used very frequently in business – whether it be for business cards, signs, or physical product prototypes. Die cuts are cuts or molds of a physical object that are created with the intention of customizing the shape to fit the product. For example, business cards are usually a heavy card-stock that start as large sheets of paper. With the process of die cutting, the large sheets of card-stock are cut into identical, perfectly shaped smaller pieces and are then ready for printing.
