- Thank you Vittoria. Real estate in the Bronx has seen a 45% increase since 2005.
- Now we have Jim Smith, a new resident of the Bronx. Now Jim tell me, what do you think of the recent improvements to the Bronx?
- I think that the improvements are very much needed. I was outpriced from Manhattan and I hate that I have had to leave my home and settle for the Bronx.
- The social world here in the Bronx is completely different to Manhattan. Here it revolves around music, Cardi B and culture.
- Thank you Jim. As you can see from our interviews the gentrification at the Bronx has had some negative and positive effects on residents
- It has had positive effects on new residents. It has offered them a new place to live. Negative effects include newcomers not being sensitive and respecting the Bronx’s history.
- House For Sale
- These old buildings won't sell. With the gentrification plan, they will be knocked down and replaced by new apartments that can house more people. These new buildings will improve the overall livability of the Bronx.
