- There is a young woman named Xueting living in this peaceful small town.
- Sometimes she has some great ideas but she is too shy to share those ideas, or disagree with others.

- One day, she told her problem to her friend from college, Miranda. In order to help her to develop her assertiveness, Miranda recommends a book for Xueting to read.
- The pink dress looks pretty! But I think the black one would fit you even better!
- After starting to read the book for few chapters, Xueting is ready to make a change of her way of dealing with people.
- Few days after she decided to change herself, when she was going shopping with her friends, they had a disagreement over picking a dress for her friend Melissa.
- Let's meet on Sunday and start our project.
- I have already promised grandma I would visit them this weekend...
- But in this time, Xueting was going to do something different...

- All of her teammates agreed with her idea. Xueting felt proud of herself that she solved the problem.
- Xueting understood the importance of being assertive, and as time passing by, she learned more techniques of developing her assertiveness from the book Miranda gave her. She looks forward to apply them into real-world practices.
