"At least once in his career, every fireman gets an itch. We let the fireman keep the book 24 hours. If he hasn't burned it by then, we simply come burn it for him.
"The family had been feeding her subconscious. She didn't want to know how a thing was done, but why. The poor girl's better off dead."
