- The Great Fear was the period of Panic through France. All the peasants were tired of the unfair taxes as they marched with pitchforks and burned down manor houses. The Parisian women marched on Versalles and rioted over the rise of the price of bread as their families were left hungry. They wanted King Louis and Queen Marie back in Paris and wanted them killed.
- Do you nobles pay the taxes! I don't think so!!
- Lower the price of bread! We need to feed our families!
- Return to Paris Louis Marie!
- The storm of the Bastille was a symbolic act of revolution for the French people. With rumors going around that King Louis was going to use military force against the French citizens, people began gathering weapons to defend the city. A mob stormed a Paris prison known as the Basitle searching for gun power and arms. They seized the building, killed many guards, and paraded with their heads on pikes.
- Kill the guards!!!
- We must defend our city against the King's Troops!
- We must search for gunpowder and arms!! Seize control over the building!
- The Reign of Terror was known as the period where Robespierre goverened France as a dictator. He essentially executed everyone who was against the idea of Revoltion using the guillotine. He also guillotined the radicals who challenged his role as a leader. Over 40,000 people were executed during this period without trials.
- Might as well execute everyone who doesn't agree with your ideas!!!
- Robespierre this is absolutely cruel!!!
- Execution with no trial?!!
