- Louis XVI decides to call for The Estates General to help him reform the country. He tells them to bring cahiers, or notebooks, full of grievances, problems they want fixed.

- There are three Estates, First, Second, and Third. The First Estate was the poorest and they payed all the taxes. This was the main grevience of the meeting ot the Estates General
- All the Estates should pay taxes!
- Nice try, NO!
- As you can see, The richest population pays the least taxes, while the poorest population pays the most tax. The richest population is the clergy in red, The nobles are in blue, and the green is the rest of the population.
