- This story takes place on a bar in 1925. This is where the story unfolds, when they stopped to talk about the choice at hand. Drinking was very common at this time, but Jig was pregnant. Already knowing this, the american disregards this fact and tells her to drink.
- Jig
- This valley could represent her mood. Depressed. Indecisive. Then the passage changes, symbolizing her sudden mood swing.
- Bartender
- The train station represents the moment to make a choice. Either go back or keep going trough with the operation.
- The American
- Jig is a young woman who finds herself pregnant. She is very easily manipulated by her partner. Throughout the story, it is evident that she suffers form depression and low self esteem.
- An estatic character. An extra She has 6 children. Understanding of jig's situation.
- An old american writer. Spends his time bar-hopping. He is a very manipulative person. Apparently he already lost interest in Jig. His catchphrase is "It's something really simple."
