- 1942 Bruno is moving to a smaller house away from all his friends, and he doesn'twant to go.
- "I don't want to go!"

- 1943Bruno is walking along a fence and meets Shmuel who is a skinny, quiet Jewish boy.

- "I'm Shmuel."
- "You're my best friend, Shmuel. My best friend for life."
- 1944Shmuel and Bruno go look for Shmuel's lost father, however, they are marched into a gas chamber and presumably die.

Hitler believed in the Aryan race which he thought was the idea of a perfect person. Specifically, he thought the Jews were horrible people who sought to take over the world. This is why Hitler started the Holocaust.
