- Dally told Ponyboy and Johnny that Cherry is helping the Greasers. She is going to testify against the Socs and say that Johnny killed Bob in self defense.
- Slayt: 2
- It ain't fair that Pony has to stay here and be scared when he didn't even do anythin'.
- Johnny said that he would turn himself in so that Pony didn't have to deal with being on the run. Dally gets mad, but then gets a bit more understanding.
- Slayt: 3
- We started it. We started it. WE STARTED IT!!!
- When the boys return from Dairy Queen, they find the church on fire. Johnny and Pony run to the church when they hear a scream from within the burning building.
- Slayt: 4
- Johnny and Ponyboy break a glass window, crawl inside, and save the children.
- Slayt: 5
- Johnny gets hit by a big, flaming piece of timber and. lets out a scream as loud as a lion's roar. Dally hits Ponyboy on the back trying to put out the fire on Pony's back, but knocks Ponyboy out.
- Slayt: 6
- The boys get taken to a hospital where Ponyboy is reunited with Darryl and Sodapop.
