Bepin Choudary's Lapse of Memory

- Once upon a time there lived a man named Bepin Choudary. He was a hard working man and lived alone in his house. He was not a good mixer, he had few friends but did not like to participate in idle chat. Everyday after his work, he used to got to kalicharan's new book store to buy books. he liked reading books.
- One day.....
- I don't know how you know me and what are you saying. But I would like to tell you that we have never met before and I have never been to Ranchi.
- Hi I am Parimal Ghose. You might not be remembering me but I remember you. Remember you and I had met everyday for a week in the Ranchi trip in October 1958?
- And Bepin babu left the book store.
- I don't know how you know these things about me but I am telling you that i was in the puja in Kanpur at my friend's place in October 1958. So, I have never been to Ranchi nor met you before. So, don't try to fool me.
- How can you say that sir? I was there with you through out the week and you have told me many things about you. You told me how your wife died 10 years ago, how you have no children and how your brother died insane. I even remember how you got hurt on your knee in the Ranchi trip.
- Saying this Bepin Babu cut the call and was more worried.
- Before you ask something I want to ask you that did you recall , that we had went to Ranchi in October 1958? We visited my places there and enjoyed a lot.
- The next day, Bepin babu was wondering about his conversation with Parimal Ghose. He was thinking how that man knew so much about him even when they had not met before.. He decided to ask his friend Dinseh Mukherji if he was in the puja or at Ranchi trip.
- I wanted ask you something Dinesh
- Yes I recalled it. Thanks
- Bepin babu became more worried and thought how can he forget such a incident which took place just six to seven years ago. Then Bepin babu decides two consult a doctor named Dr. Chanda and ask him for the solution. When Bepin babu tells his problem to Dr. Chanda, Dr. Chanda asks him to visit Ranchi again and see if he recollects anything about the trip. Soon agreed with the decision of Dr. Chanda, Bepin babu decides to visit Ranchi. He visits many places there but unfortunately, he does not recall anything and returns home with disappointment.
- Soon Beepin babu understood that all this was a prank and also realised his mistake.
- One day, Bepin babu falls ill. He becomes so stressed that he does not even get up from his bed. Suddenly his servant enters his room taking a letter sent by his friend Chunilal. Now Bepin Babu reads the letter.
- Dear Bepin,I did not think that you will be so stressed by hearing this. I just wanted to teach you a lesson because you did not help me when I needed it most. I did not mean to hurt you. All this which I did was just a prank to take a revenge And I think that I am succesful in my work. I don't have money but all I have is imagination which I used to teach you a lesson. So, now please don't think about this any more. Yours lovingly Chunilal
