- The setting in this poem revolves around the earth. Everything the speaker says, relates to the earth, therefore the main setting for the poem is the earth. However, the setting in which he is reciting the poem is a empty dessert which he says is what would be left of the earth if we don't take care of it.

- The theme of this poem is saving the environment. He talks about how if we don't act now on this issue, that we're creating an unhealthy and polluted environment for our future generations. He explains how it would be unfair that we get to live on a decently clean planet and they have to live through pollution. Ea says that we won't realise the issue until it becomes way worse.
- Imagery
- The speaker/poet talked in a fast speed when he was talking about a tense situation, and when the situation was calm, he would slow down. This method of speed really engaged the reader. You could also easily hear the pain in his voice which made you realise how deeply he felt for the situation which also made us feel deeply for the situation.
- purpose
- The meaning of the poem is to apologise for the future generations for having to live in the mess of a world that me created. He talks about how it isn't fair that we could live in a decently clean world and they have to live through all the trash that we let fly around. He then realises that we shouldn't have to apologise because we still have time to fix this issue.
- The poet uses a simile like We didn't realise how special the earth, like a marriage gone wrong, we didn't know what we had until it was gone. This simile works well as it really hits a personal level in a persons emotions. Even the way he speaks makes us feel everything he says on another level.
- The purpose of this poem is to reach a certain connection with a person about saving the environment so the person feels a personal connection with it. This way the listener/reader feels more obligated to help make a change and help to save the environment.
