On one of those many nights when he was going out, he suddenly heard a voice in the distance telling him:When will be the last time you do this, Father Almeida?Incredulous, the priest answered out loud:Until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Be that as it may, that same night, after having been drinking so much in the bar, he met a funeral march on his way to the cemetery.On his way out, he bumped into the coffin and was shocked at what he saw, becoming paler than a dead man. The person inside the coffin was none other than himself, dead from some incident of drinking too much alcohol.

Suddenly, the alcohol in his veins evaporated from the tremendous shock he got, sobering up in no time. He ran and ran to the church and promised Christ that he would never again drink a drop of any beverage.

People who visit the same church where Father Almedia worked say that the local Christ has a slight smile on his lips, as if he had won. It is believed that it is for having gotten Father Almeida to give up alcohol, satisfied Christ for having gotten the sheep to return to the flock.
