Oh, that makes so much sense. So the answer to my question is that yes, there are arguments to prove that empires were potentially evil. However, the answer isn't black and white, as they did have negative consequences, but also positive ones. Like you said with the British and Indian example.

Not exactly. Think of it like this. In history, the British Empire was one of the more known empires to have existed for a long period of time. Once they took over India, yes, they killed and imprisoned many Indians ;however, they also unified the Indian states as a whole by uniting warring tribes and creating advanced infrastructure. This is also explained in Sapiens. Although empires destroy and somewhat oppress individuals, they also unite people under one culture and state, strengthening them overtime.
