- Feudalism is a social system existing in Medieval Europe in which people worked and fought for nobles who gave them land and protection. When the lord bought land they owned all of the land and everything that came into the land.
- Nobles
- I will trade this land for currency!
- The Pope, or Bishop was the top church leader and the kingdom. Out of all the churches in one kingdom, the Catholic church was always the most powerful. The Catholic church received a tithe of 10% from all of the people who attended the church and everyone who didn't.
- Knight
- I am the kings knight and it is my duty to protect the castle at all times.
- The monarch is the top leader of all the land. But they can't just control all of the by theirselves so they divided it to the barons. The barons pledged their loyalty and their soldiers to the monarch in return for the land.
- Peasant
- The nobles owned big areas of land that were considered fiefs. They always have did work for the king and they were very wealthy over all. The nobles divided their land among lords who ran individual manors by themselves. Nobles jobs were to maintain the kings orders and run an army as kings orders. If the nobles didn't have an army for a period of time, they had to pay a tax to the king.
- The knights protected the kings at their castle. Since the servants work for the kings and the knights also work for the kings the knights were ordered to protect the peasants from invaders to keep them working on the land. Any land that the knights owned, they owned the servants, crops, and village.
- Most of the people of the middle ages were peasants. Since all they really had to do their whole lives were work. Even though they worked for most days they still got very little pay. On the land that the kings own, over 90% of the people worked the land as peasants.
- I have to do all of this work for barely any money to provide for my family! But I guess its worth it..
