- What is a either/or fallacy?
- This is a comic strip based off of the either/or fallacy!
- The either/or fallacy is when an argument is constructed specially so that the necessity of choosing one of two options is understood.
- In most situations this is helpful to the arguer, it can ignore all the other possibilities that they might not want you to know.
- Could you give some examples?
- Your being mean! I can be friends with you and her!
- One Example is..
- HOW CAN YOU BE FRIENDS WITH HER?!
- But I can't! Why are you making me choose?
- You have to choose one! Me or her, who is it gonna be?
- No thank you, I already bought something.
- Another Example is...
- Hello! Come get clothes from our store!
- Maybe I should buy the clothes, I don't want to look like a loser.
- If you don't wear our clothes, you will look like a loser.
