- In the early 1800s, the Americans wanted more land, so in 1803 the Americans bought Louisiana territory from France for 15 million dollars. This is why it is called the Louisiana Purchase. When the americans bought Louisiana they were not sure where Texas began and where Louisiana stopped. Spain got angry because they did not want give up land to the US. The Americans also got mad because they wanted as much land they could get.

- Some reasons why Mexico's citizens were unhappy is because they were being treated unfairly with tax. Another reason is the lower class is treated like slaves. They also did not have equal rights with European-born spaniards living in Mexico.

- Miguel hidalgo y Costallia is a priest who lives in New spain. On September 16, 1810 he issued his "Grito de Dolores/ Cry of dolores." Father hidalgo wanted everyone to be treated equally and not differently. A lot of lower classs joined his revolt to stop the peninsualers. Slowly they captured some portions of spain. While they were capturing the land in spain they also killed some of the upper classes. When Criollos rejected Hidalgos offer, Hidalgos forces got defeated. When Hidalgo was about to reach the Rio Grande one of Hidalgo's officers turned their back on him and Hidalgo didn't survive
- Constitution of 1824
- A fillibusters are adventureers who made an uncertified war against a country for their own needs. They also don't follow the plan that the governmment tells them to. In the 1700s Philip Nolan is a filibuster who said he came to texas to trade things like horses to the spanish. The Spanish people were worried that he was a spy who secretly came to spy for the land for the U.S. in the 1800s the Spanish secretly waited for him at Present day Waco and killed him instantly.
- In Febuary 1813 Spanish's forces gave up the siege and retreated to San Antonio. Kemper's forces chased the spanish forces and the Kempers forces defeated the Spanish Forces in March 1813. The leaders provided a declaration of independence. In August 1813 the Republican Army fought the Spanish Forces near the South of San Antonio close to the Medina River. The Spanish forces commanded by general Joaquin de Arrendono. The Spanish forces cornered the Kempers forces and the Spanish forces won.
- Afterwards when the Mexican leader Agustin de Interbide lost all of his tower, The Mexicans wanted to change the government and make a new constitutional right. So they called a constitutional assembly to write or make a new constitution. The person who was representing Texas was someone named Erasmo Seguin of San Antonio. On Spetember 24, 1824, the assembly officially followed on the Federal Constitutuion of 1824. Underneath the new Constitution Mexico Republicanism, Federalism, Indivisual Rights, and Seperations were all part of the constitution to help Mexico. Texas was combined with the territory of Coahulia and new state of Coahulia and Tejas. Texans were afraid that the Coahulia would dominate Texas sense Coahulia has a bigger population than Texas.
