- Hi Dad, today our mam told us about the Constitution of India. Can you tell me how does the constitution help us?
- Sure, our constitution gives every citizen some basic rights. These are called Fundamental Rights. There are six fundamental rights. Let me tell you about these rights.
- Okay dad.
- The first one is the right to equality. It means that every Indian is equal before the law and there is no discrimination.
- The second is right to freedom which means all citizens have the freedom of speech and expression, freedom to travel and live in any part of the country.
- Wow! that's great.
- Third is the right against exploitation which means that every kid in India that is under 14 is not allowed to work. The fourth is right to freedom of religion that means we are free to practice and propagate any religion of our own choice.
- The fifth right is cultural and educational right.It promotes equal opportunities to all citizens. Every community has the right to preserve, protect and promote one's culture and language. They also have the right to establish their own educational institutions.

- Sixth is the right to constitutional remedies. It means that if any citizen of India wants to get their fundamental rights protected, they are allowed to go to a court.So these are the fundamental rights.
