- Jess's dad comes in Jess's room to tell the news and Jess can't believe what he had heard.
- Jess starts to cry and cry because Leslie was one true friend to hi and now shes gone forever.
- A few weeks later even though Jess was devastated he knew Leslie would want someone to take her place in Terabithia so he invites Maybell to take her place.
