With everyone working remotely and in different schedules, I don’t know how to manage all this . How are you coping up with all this ?
So much is going on!I have some deliveries pending this week, two escalations to deal with and an important stakeholder meeting.
I know, it’s a not easy especially since we don’t meet every team member f2f these days. However, have started some new practices that have worked out for me.
What practices ?
A weekly round table team meeting - this helps in ensuring we all are aware of each other progress, risk and pain areas if any. If you can do a video meet even better!
Like focusing on extra communication. Do a quick call with every team member at least twice a week.
That sounds doable!What else?
New rules of internal engagement1) Call first -Pick up the phone if person is available rather than doing multiple rounds on emails. 2) Prompt Response- Always acknowledge receipt of emails or meeting invites with tentative plan around any action item.
Ok! But what if people do not follow therules of engagement?
Well it may happen that it takes time for everyone to get into practice but by regular communication this is certainly doable.
