- At 8:15 in the mornings Louis XIV is awoken. He makes a sign of the cross and then attends a short mass. He then gets a check up, gets combed, and shaved to look presentable.
- While he goes to the bathroom his barber brushes his beard and puts on his casual wig.
- Thank you sir. Make sure it looks good.
- Good morning, it is time for me to brush your wig.
- At 9:00 it is time for breakfast. Usually an herbal tea is chosen by Louis XIV. At this time his watch is checked for the correct time and the barber puts on a more formal wig.
- Would you like some more tea?
- Yes please, tea is my favorite when it comes to breakfast.
- At 10 the king walks through the hall and the crowd is able to briefly speak to the king and then he goes on his way to mass which lasts a half an hour. The famous choir sings a new piece every day.
- Thank you kind man. Your wings suit you quite well.
- King Louis XIV what a striking outfit you've got on.
- Around 6-7 pm Louis XIV would leave his son in charge of the entertainment when he went to sign letters prepared by his secretary. Then he would go to where he would study important papers with one out of his four Secretaries of State.
- Time to sign these letters.
- At 11:30 pm it was time for the king to end his day and retire to his bedchamber. This would involve a going-to-bed ceremony which would be the exact reverse of the getting up ceremony.
