Othello begins in Venice. Iago meets with Roderigo in media res, discussing a mutual hated man. Othello, meanwhile, has proposed to Desdemona.

Iago's jealousy of Cassio's lieutenancy leads to planting false lies in Othello's head that Desdemona enchants men, she does not love Othello, and that she has an affair with Cassio.
Falling Action
Iago is a liar! Desdemona is innocent!
Othello is sent to defend the Islands of Cyprus from The Turks invasion with Cassio, Iago and Desdemona. Iago tells the audience his plans to split the couple and to kill Cassio.
Denouement
Iago is not so honest!
Iago finds Desdemona's lost strawberry handkerchief and plants it in Cassio's room, framing the affair. Othello believes Iago and strips Cassio of his title and friendship, vowing revenge.
Desdemona is unfaithful! She must be punished.
Now I have no reputation!
Iago suggests Othello strangles Desdemona in their wedding bed. Othello does as told, from rage. The act is caught by Emilia, and she exposes Iago's devious scheme.
Die, sinner!
Othello kills himself out of sadness and annoints Cassio as Venice's King. Iago stabs Emilia, she dies. Montano commands Iago to be sent to prison.
