- The animals have probably moved to some other habitat. There are some major threats for wildlife. Habitat loss due to Deforestation is one of them. Pollution of the Terrestrial and Aquatic Habitats, Climate Changes, Hunting and Poaching of animals and Natural Calamities are also some threats.
- Dad, what about the animals? Why are the reasons for the loss of Wildlife?
- Fortunately, there are some ways. Natural Habitats of the animals can be protected by protecting forests. The Government can impose a complete ban on the hunting and capturing of wildlife. Captive breeding programmes can also help preserve endangered animals. General awareness must be developed at all levels.
- Then, dad, how can we save the animals from extinction?
- There are some measures for that. First one being Afforestation, that is basically growing of forests on lands that have not been forested for a while. Then, there is Reforestation, which is growing of trees in forests that were recently destroyed. Forest fires have to be prevented. Setting up National Parks and Sanctuaries is also an effective method.
- Dad, I promise to save and conserve the forests and wildlife and make the world a better place.
