- The Meeting

- The Fight
- Capulet servants Sampson and Gregory quarrel with Montagues. The Prince declares that any further fighting between the families will result in banishment or death.
- The Plan
- Romeo and Juliet meet at Capulet's party. They profess their love to each other and make plans for their future together.
- The deaths
- The morning after the wedding, the Capulet house and Montague house get in a fight in the street. Tybalt slays Mercutio and Romeo slays Tybalt in retaliation. The Prince banishes Romeo from Verona.
- The end
- In order for Romeo and Juliet to be together, Friar Lawrence devises a plan. Juliet will drink a potion which will put her to sleep and appear dead. Romeo will rescue he from her family's crypt and they will sneak out of Verona until it is safe to return.
- The plan goes wrong when Friar John is unable to deliver the news to Romeo that Juliet is not actually dead. Balthasar tells Romeo his wife is dead, and Romeo visits an apothecary to procure poison to kill himself. Shortly after he drinks the poison, Juliet awakes, and finding Romeo dead, she kills herself.
- Upon discovery of the two dead lovers, the families declare a truce and the Prince declares that some with be pardoned and some will be punished for the deaths or Rome and Juliet.
