In this scene of Hamlet he meets his fathers ghost. The ghost reveals to his son that he was killed by his Uncle Claudius. His uncle has married his mother and have taken the throne for themselves. In this scene the ghost insists that Hamlet take revenge against his murderer but not to harm his mother.

In this scene Hamlet says his famous quote “to be or not to be”. In this scene Hamlet is thinking about what is the point of life and if life is worth all the struggle and pain that it brings. He contemplates the nature of life and death.

In this scene Hamlet has brought people to preform in front of the king. The play thought is of the murder king himself. While the play is going on Hamlet watches how the king reacts to try to figure out if he is guilty of murdering his father.

In this scene Hamlet speak to his mother Gertrude about how she married his uncle so quickly after his fathers death. His emotions start to take over and he begins to yell so much that he scares her so she cries out for help. Hamlet without thinking stabs Polonius thinking it was Claudius. After this scene Hamlets behavior becomes increasingly more erratic.

In this scene King Claudia’s is holding a council meeting with the other members of the court. The council is discussing matters of the kingdom when Hamlet enters the room and accuses the king of murdering his own brother. This scene sets up upcoming conflict throughout the play

In this scene queen Gertrude goes and tells King Claudius of Ophelia’s death. While we don’t see her death she says that they were picking flowers by the river and she had fallen in the river and drowned. She also notes that she had been acting strange before her death.
