Key Event : Huck places a snake in Jim's blanket , thinking it was dead , as a joke . Little does Huck know that by doing that , it brings bad luck :
"I went to the cavern to get some , and found a rattlesnake in there . I killed him , and curled him up on the foot of Jim's blanket , .." (Twain 90)

Key Event : Huck goes to a town as a girl and meets a 40 year old woman . He spends time talking to her about what's going on in town . She starts suspecting that he's lying about his gender

"I says, alright and was going to start for the raft ; but just then I heard a voice wail out and say :" (Twain 115)
Key Event : Huck goes on an adventure to a boat at night , he overhears something . In the boat , they were robbers threatening to kill a member so he won't tell .
"Oh please don't , boys ; I swear I won't ever tell !" (Twain 116)

"They're in an awful peck of trouble , and --""Who is ?""Why , pap, and mam , and sis, and Miss Hooker and if you take your ferryboat and go up there -- ""Up where?Where are they?""On the wreck "(Twain 126)
Key Event : Huck feels bad for the men still stuck on the boat , so he goes and gets help for a ferryman . Huck tells the ferryman that his family is stuck on the boat
Key Event: After finding things from the robber's bounty , they go into the woods and start reading the book and chatting about the adventures they've had
"We laid off all the afternoon in the woods talking , and me reading books , having a generally good time" (Twain 130)
Key Event : Huck and Jim get separated due to the fog . They reunite and Huck plays a prank on Jim, Huck then realizes how much he cares for Jim
"It was 15 minutes before I could work myself up to go and humble myself to a n- ; but I done it , and I warn't every sorry for it afterwards , neither . I didn't do him no more mean tricks , and I wouldn't done that one if I'd a knowed it would make him feel that way" (Twain 148)
