- The man decided to take Coyote to his home. Coyote worked for the man and his sister. He was treated cruelly and one day, he told the man's sister to pack up her things. He was going to take the man's sister to his home as a prisoner, and treat her the way he was treated. While making their way, Coyote would hit the sister with a long stick every time she stopped.
- Pack up your things!
- The man came home to find Coyote and his sister missing. Coyote didn't know that the man had the power to travel as fast as the fleetest arrow, and so he was able to catch up to them quickly. The man shot an arrow to let his sister know he was close. He then saw Coyote hit his sister after she cried with joy, and shot another arrow.

- Coyote was frightened. The man approached Coyote and asked what he was doing with his sister. Coyote lied and said he was taking her to a village where the people would treat her kindly and said that he too, was being kind and helping her. The man did not believe Coyote and put his bow-string through Coyote's mouth and gave the ends to the girl. She sewed the strings back and forth, while the man whipped him. The man was the Wind. The man was angry towards Coyote for stealing his buffalo robe and trying to catch the deer with it, instead of waiting for his power.
- I'm sorry!
- I am the Wind.
