- The Start of The Day
- Thank you, Mom!
- Oh, you're welcome!
- Getting Ready
- Heh heh.
- He's ALWAYS the last one down.
- Dad Comes Downstairs
- Wooooooah
- Kobe died...
- Oh no...
- No WAY! That can't be TRUE!
- The day started off normal. My mom made us some pancakes and we watched some TV. Then my mom said we are planning on going out to eat lunch. So my brother and I went up to shower and get changed up.
- Go Out to Lunch
- After we got cleaned up and dressed, we waited downstairs near the door for my dad. It was no surprise of him being last, but oh well. My mom was getting mad because he is always late and I honestly found it quite funny.
- Come Home and Sit
- Once my dad comes downstairs, he tells us some news. He said that his phone says Kobe died in a helicopter accident. I couldn't believe it and neither could he. At first he thought it might be fake news but it started blowing his phone up from multiple news stations, so it was official.
- Months Later
- We sat there sad to the point we could not even enjoy the meal. We had went to a newly opened Chinese restaurant in downtown. And on top of it all it was Sunday and school was the next day. At the table, we just remembered Kobe and how great he was. My parents talked about how I used to pretend to be him on our little indoor hoop, and talking about that stuff made it harder for me to not cry.
- When we got home, we still couldn't believe that it had happened. I remembered how much I loved watching him as a kid and how much of a role model he was. It saddened me that he was gone but also it made me think. It taught me a valuable lesson.
- When Kobe died, it taught me to live life to the fullest. I appreciated my family even more and treated them the best I possibly could. I enjoyed every bit of my life from that point on, because tomorrow isn't promised.
