- Hello everyone, my name is Shixun ShangguanI spent the first 18 years of my life in China. I lived in the southern part of China. At that time, China was a developing country. Environmental problems were very serious. Therefore, from that time on, I wanted to learn about environmental management from the experience of developed countries such as Germany. In the future, I would like to go back to China and work in the field of environmental management.

- I started traveling to Canada for my studies at the age of 18. I have worked and studied in montreal, winnipeg, brandon and Toronto. My undergraduate degree was in environmental studies, and during that time I fell in love with hiking and exploring nature. After graduation, I became an environmental journalist working in Canada. I hope to continue to do similar work and do my part to change the world!

- After several years of work, I would like to focus my research in the area of climate disaster management. That is why I came to study at Columbia University. Nowadays, due to global warming and climate change, natural disasters are happening all around us every minute of the day, and as a journalist I have witnessed the upheaval of society in the aftermath of disasters. I hope to help as many people as possible through my studies.
