  • Advanced technology
  • Can't wait to see you next week! The research is going well.
  • Me too! See you soon.
  • Integration of culture
  • Global cooperation
  • Thank you for protecting us!
  • Advanced technology due to globalization means contacting others across the world is more accessible. This means time can be used more efficiently and with more ease. For example, people can work abroad to do important scientific research or business etc. without losing communications with family.
  • Damage to the environment
  • Due to the advancement in communications and travel around the world, lots of cultures are being seen and learnt about by different people. This could be through holidays, immigration in communities, or education.
  • Increasing gap between the rich and poor
  • Global cooperation has meant countries can work together to resolve global issues and accomplish missions. These issues or missions could be anything to do with the environment, poverty, war, disease, extinct animals etc. For example, The Antarctic Treaty was created to protect Antarctica through cooperation from 54 countries.
  • Loss of identity
  • There have been many negative effects on the environment due to globalization and consequently the increase in transport. People are now consuming products that have been developed in foreign countries and the fuel that is consumed in transporting these products has led to an increase in pollution levels. As well as this, the industrial waste that is generated as a result of production has been laden on ships and dumped in oceans.
  • Due to globalization making communications and travel more accessible for businesses, the rate of global inflation has increased making products more expensive while wages remain low. Often people migrate from rural to urban environments in search of employment however, they are met with exploitation and extremely low wages from TNCs who are able to disregard workers rights. This leads to to inequality.
  • As TNCs expand into different cities, local businesses are pushed out due to prices becoming more competitive and rent getting higher. This leads to 'clone streets/towns' and individual areas across the world being westernised and loosing their individuality.
