- Athens was a direct democracy. In fact one of the earliest known democracies known. Only male citizens over the age of 18 could particpate and the wealthy and rich became arcons and eventually most power shifted to them. In the direct democracy people would propose laws and ideas to help Athens prosper but in the end only Arcons would make descions.
- The goverments of ancient and current democracies
- The roman republic was also an oligracy. The power was in the hands of the patricans and the senate was consisted of paticans. However thery had elections for 2 consuls who's term lasted a year. The senate had the power to approve of disapprove their descions. This system still also prevented many women and immigrants from voting for consul and only male citizens could go for consul.

- Today in the 21st century we have improved our ways of thinking changing our beliefs and making new obligations and duties. The US is a unique goverment heavily inspired by the Greek and Roman democracies. However we incoporated new idea and now allow a variety of people to become citizens and vote all still 18+. Also we give some people to power of making descions but we decide who can. However our ideas are not opressed and today we the people have a unique democracy in which the senate proposes ideas, the presidents or consuls of the present approve/disapprove and the judical sees if this does not conflict with out morals. This improved goverment was made by the thoughts of generation of people all over the world.
