  • The amygdala then sends that signal to the hypothalamus, which is the brain's control center
  • After the stressor subsides, the other 1/2 of the autonomic nervous system, the parasympathetic nervous system, stores calm and balance within the body. Then the cycle repeats again the next time you're stressed, just like you were in class today. I hope that helps, Sally.
