Hello, We are here in Mexico City checking out this extreme water crisis
Lets start off with the science behind our city's water, the pH of our city ranges from 6.9 to 8.5.
Hi my name is Trenton Lingold, this is Connor Mawhiney, and this is Matthew Hoffman. We have come here today to show the real dangers of what is happening in Mexico City.
As you can see, Mexico City is built on a lagoon and over the centuries the Spanish have drained this lake for personal use which as resulted in no support underneath the city.
Since their has been no support underneath the city, the ground has fractured thought the years and is sinking into the ground, taking the city with it.
The government has done nothing about this crisis other than acknowledging it. Studies have shown that if nothing is done to help the city, the day zero for Mexico City could be as close as 2050
Also the homes in Mexico are not being supplied with enough water for day to day living and part of that reason why is because the place where the city gets its water from has leaked 40% of its water
