Pfft, you think THAT'S cool? I'm Stephen F. Austin, the "father" of Texas. In 1825 I moved about 300 families AND their slaves to the Tejas region of Mexico from the U.S. On February 23, 1836 the Battle of the Alamo commenced and Mexico won. Later on in that same year the Texans won the Battle of San Jacinto which only lasted 18 minutes! On March 2nd of that same year Texas gained official independence.
Well I'm Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States. I signed civil rights acts into law that prohibited discrimination and promoted integration. The Civil Rights Movement in Texas also included the fight for equal rights for Latinos. In 1950 there was a political shift towards conservatism in Texas.
Hi I'm Eliza from contemporary Texas. I live in Texas, the state that is most vulnerable to climate change. We are affected by drought, extreme heat, and wild fires and we are the national leader in global warming pollution. Unfortunately, most of the leaders of my state deny the science that humans and the burning of fossil fuels is to blame for rising global temperatures.
