Vonnegut makes it clear in his exaggerated story, Harrison Bergeron. He shows what society would look like if everyone were equal. Everyone would have the same intelligence level, no one would be prettier or more handsome, and we would be equal in every aspect. Vonnegut shows that equality can mean denying opportunities to all people so that everyone is disadvantaged. Society would be leveled to the lowest common denominator so that no one would be disadvantaged. He shows the bad side to equality and the type of world it could lead to.
