- The firebirds that used to dance in the flames of their beauty. Now I just burnt out their flame.
- Melanie where are you!?
- Melanie sat in the booth, ignoring the teaching boothing trying to teach her, but she just sat there daydreaming about a special pink bird she saw in an old book, she dreamt of flamingos dancing on a lake and as their feathers were as red as fire(simile) so she called them firebirds.
- Falling Action
- After all the flamingos died we put a decoy there to simulate a flamingo, but no one has ever got the close.
- She left her booth and met her mom before they put on their eye protectors and gas masks so they can walk in the posoinous smog outside. While they were on their way home Melanie wondered if her parents would take her to the last Natural Park, but they only half-promised so she didn't know if she was actually going, but they finally agreed and she waited until she could go. When the day came Melanie and her father went on a helicopter to fly to the natural park with a tour guide. She was really excited to see if they had flamingos.
- Resolution
- When Melanie got to the natural park she looked around and couldn't find any flamingos, so when her father wasn't looking she ran away into the woods. As her dad started looking for her she found a bird standing in a lake. It was flamingo! She was so amazed she went up to it and tried to touch it, but all that happened was it falling over. It was a fake, and Melanie started crying and her dad finally found her adter shouting her name.
- Theme and Conflict
- I have to grow up I can't be sad about this forever, and I don't want to ruin anyone elses dream so goobye flamingo. I hope your wings glimmer in the sun once more like a beautiful crystal reflecting the suns rays.(simile)
- Her dad and the tour guide saw what she was doing and the tour guide explained that all the flamingos died because of the pollution.
- Melanie heard what the guide said. She stopped crying and accepted that the flamingos are dead, and set the flamingo back up.
- Melanie talked to the plastic flamingo and then walked away.
