- The puppy is going up into the air using the fuel from the balloon which causes heat.
- Yay! Woohoo! I'm going up in the air!
- Zero runs away from Camp Green Lake
- Whew! That was FUN! Maybe this day wasn't so bad after all.
- Stanley Yelnats always seems to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. One day, Clyde Livingston's shoes fall from the sky and hit Stanley on the head. He of course get's a punishment : Camp Green lake or jail. Stanley picks camp green lake as his punishment. Camp Green Lake, has no lake but a lot of sand. The weather is very hot, since it never rains there. Stanley has to dig holes everyday that are 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep.
- Stanley is determined to find Zero
- Ugh! Ugh! Stanley are you there?
- Stanley meets Zero when all the other boys are talking together. He understands that Zero does not know how to read or write, and everyone teases him. Zero is also the fastest digger, so Stanley agrees with a deal. Zero digs a part of Stanley's hole everyday if Stanley teacher Zero how to read and write.
- Stanley's Plan To Escape

- There breaks a fight between, Stanley and the other boys from Camp Green Lake. Mr. Pendanski enters, and asks Zero who started the fight. Zero chose Stanley's side, and told Mr. Pendanski the truth. Like always, since Zero was not smart, Mr. Pendanski didn't believe Zero. Zero was furious and hit Mr. Pendanski on the head with a shovel. Now he is scared and runs away without any food or water.
- The Lesson: Friendship and working together gets you out of problems
- That's not fair!
- After a couple of days Stanley ran away from camp too using Mr. Sir's truck. Stanley found Zero in the middle of the dessert under a boat., alive! While Stanley was drinking the old drinks he was something that looked like gods thumb thumb, his grandfather told him about. Zero was getting more and more sick, the only he could do is climb up gods thumb, since that's what Stanley's grandfather did to survive. After, they climb up gods thumb, they find ONIONS and WATER! Zero commenced to feel healthier.
- Zerooooooooo! You're still alive?
- Later, Stanley and Zero returned to camp in the night and wait until everyone is asleep. Stanley slowly sneaks into camp and gets a shovel. Before this night Stanley told Zero about his great great grandfather, and money that he hood and everyone else was trying to find it. He explained to Zero that it took place in Camp Green Lake. Zero is the lookout for Stanley while he digs, in several places. After all he finds the suitcase,early morning with the warden catching Zero and Stanley. The warden claims it's hers, but Zero was astute enough to notice that it said Stanley Yelnats.
- Stanley's lawyer enters Camp Green Lake, to tell that Stanley and Zero are going home. The 2 boys worked together to get out of Camp. Even if Zero doesn't have a family, Stanley is his family and they will always stay as friends!
- Stanley and Zero, you may come with me! We are going home!
