- Hi there. I'm going to be talking about sodium. It is in group 1, period 3, and its in the Alkali metals family. It also has 1 electron in its outer "shell".
- Add in pictures!!
- Sodium is a soft, silver-grey metal which can be easily cut. It is a solid at room temperature and was discovered in 1807 by Humphry davey. It also makes your food taste better!
- Can you put me down now?
- Sodium is used in lots of things, some examples are table salt (sodium chloride), washing soda (sodium carbonate) and also used in our blood! Like this dog, he has sodium in him just like we do!
- Show things with sodium in them!
- Although it is found in 2.6% of the earth's crust, we do use it everyday in our table salt. So I guess you could say its Na'turally salty.
- You gotta be kitten me...
- Now let's put aside the facts and get to the point, you NEED sodium! Without it, your food would taste bland and it also helps sends messages to the brain!
- Even though too much sodium is not good, it still helps control your blood pressure and other nerve systems in the body.
