- Boudicca and the King of the Iceni, Prasutagus lived in Britain as a mighty tribe.The king had made a deal when he died the Romans would get half the land and Boudicca would get the other half.He hoped that this would stop The Romans taking all the land
- Unfortunately, when the King died, Boudicca was stripped of her land and her and her daughters were beaten up by the Romans.The Romans took all of the land.Boudicca was furious!
- Boudicca and her tribe would not tolerate this so she gathered all the other unhappy tribes and started a rebellion against The RomansShe wanted to take her lands back and kill all Romans.
- Boudicca and her army successfully defeated the Roman people of Colchester, London and St Albans.Lots of Roman soldiers died.The Romans were furious so they sent lots more men to fight.
- Soon the Roman governor showed up with his larger army and defeated Boudicca, despite the fact her army was still greater.The Romans were more skilled, fitter and had better weapons
- Boudicca couldn’t live with the fact that she had lost and she didn’t want to be taken away so she drank poison, and killed herself.
