- When the slaves arrived at the plantation, they were forced to do many work at the plantation
- The overseer went to Africa to capture the black people who they thought looked healthy in order to get more money

- The slaves had to harvest crops such as tobacco and they worked for over ten hours a day
- They were kept under the ship for most of the time. Sometimes they had to go up and exercise to stay healthy and get cleaned.

- At the auction, the plantation owners would come and buy the slaves where the highest bitter gets the healthy slaves they wanted
- They always sang a song about the god of their religion. They also rebelled against their owners
