- One year after he buried his son and his bicycle, he dug up his treasure and with extreme positivism he noticed tht all it needed was a little-palm oil greasing.

- All of us should be thankful for all the things we have in our life whether if its our family or our belongings and; to have faith that God is here to take care of us.
- The main conflict corresponds to the band of thieves attempting to steal money from Jonthan in the middle of the night, and the fact that this became a routine for the Iwegbu family.
- The title of the story is "Civil Peace" and the story is full with post-war hardships; some thieves steal from him, nevertheless he keeps a positive outlook.
