- In Gary Soto's poem 'Oranges' there wasn't a specific setting that the poem focused on, but there is a focus of the poem when they are walking down the street.
- Symbol
- Although the theme may not be that clear, the poem defiantly shows that the boy is reminiscing on his past crush. We may not know when this happened but it defiantly has the aura of young love/childhood crush,
- Imagery
- This poem is told in first person and follows a boy as he walks with a girl for the first time. We follow him from place to place as he explains what he is doing.

- The purpose of the poem oranges isn't really clear but probably to entertain. The poem is told through more of a story of events that all tie together through one long stanzas
