  • psssst! did you hear that Rosie?! I'm so going to raise lots of money! that's right! your girl Sarah's going to be queen of the school!
  • Hello Students! we have a big opportunity coming up to raise lots of money for a special charity! it's a special cause, so join in, that would be great help!!!
  • Hi Mum! Hi Dad! my day at school was awesome! I'm going to raise so much money for this new charity thing at school! I just need a little help to get some money from you guys...
  • Of course honey!!! We are so proud of you! I'm so glad you've decided to give to the less fortunate! Just remember to give humbly!
  • I've raised over $500 for the charity! it was tough, but I managed to get so much money!!!! I think I've raised the most money in the school!!!
  • Sarah Brown to Mrs. Smith's office, please! she wishes to speak to you...
  • The school principle is talking about a new opportunity to raise money for charity and Sarah is extremely excited. She thinks she'll be able to be 'queen of the school' if she raises the most money.
  • MRS'S SMITH OFFICE
  • She probably just wants to speak to me about how much money I've raised! who wouldn't praise such a good deed? My parents are going to be so proud of me!!
  • Sarah is at home speaking to her parents about the opportunity given to raise money for the Charity but doesn't mention the part that she's doing it to be popular. Her parents are extremely proud of her and accept her ask for money, but remind her to give humbly. Sarah doesn't seem to give much interest.
  • That's right. telling everybody about what you've done is not good. yes, you might of done something amazing, but you must ask yourself - am I doing this to help others, or for praise. if the answer is to help, then the true prize is knowing you have done good. Somewhere out there, somebody will know what you have done, and even if nobody does, YOU will know.
  • Hi Sarah, I'm so glad you could come! I wanted to talk to you about the money you raised for the charity. It's great you've raised so much money, but you need to be humble when you do!
  • What do you mean? I don't understand! Be humble? Can't I tell my friends about my good deeds?
  • Sarah is in her cafeteria with her friends and is bragging about how she's raised $500 and everybody seems very impressed. However, she has just been called to the principle's office...
  • what did you do on the weekend, Sarah?
  • ummm, not much!
  •
  • She is just outside the principle's office waiting to be called in, but she thinks she is going to be praised for her good deeds. She is sure that her parents will be proud for Sarah being honoured.
  • She enters Mrs. Smith's office only to be surprised by what she has to say to Sarah. The teacher first starts by saying Sarah must be humble when she gives to the less-fortunate, and Sarah is extremely confused. She can't believe it isn't good to tell people about the good deeds that she does. Her teacher helps her notice that there's no need to brag, because when giving you cannot give to receive praise, but instead must help because it's the right thing to do. and somebody will always know of her good deeds.
  • After the weekend Sarah is sitting again at the cafeteria talking with her friends and is asked about her weekend. She says she didn't do much, but really she gave money to a man on the street. Sarah has learned that she doesn't need to brag anymore!
