- I hate not being able to wear the clothes that I like. I'm so sick of hiding away.
- Another day of constantly worrying and injustice...
- We must make sure the women are following the law
- Can they see my earrings?Will they hurt me?
- Sanaz lives in Iran, which is in the middle of a civil war. Women are being forced to cover up and their rights are being taken away. Sanaz wears regular clothes under her robes as an act of rebellion. She is trying to preserve her freedom as best she can.

- Why are these signs so humiliating?
- VEILING IS A WOMAN'S PROTECTION
- As soon as Sanaz steps out her house, her whole demeanor changes. She becomes withdrawn and tries to make herself invisible.
- Oh no, is he coming over here?
- She won't mind if I go over there, after all I am a man.
- I wonder how my brother and boyfriend are.
- She passes the Blood of God, which patrol's the streets to make sure that women are following the rules. Sanaz is wondering if any of her colorful clothing is showing since she is fearful of getting whipped or hurt.
- I must not draw any attention. These rules are so cruel.
- Isn't she a pretty one?
- Sanaz walks quickly and with her head down trying not to draw any attention to herself. On her way home, she passes signs and slogans which are directed towards and degrade women.
- Women are required to sit on the back of the bus meanwhile men can sit in the front. Iranian women often get harassed on the bus by men.
- Men are superior! They deserve these seats!
- Sanaz walks quickly and tries not to make any trouble for herself. She thinks about her brother and boyfriend to occupy her on her way home, and about how harsh the rules placed on women are.
