- BOOM!
- Ralph called this meeting so we can decide who our leader will be.
- Choir, stand still.
- I'm the new chief.
- Ralph tried numerous times till finally the conch sounded. It made a sound so loud all the boys scattered around the island had heard and started migrating to the beach.
- The choir belongs to you, of course.
- The conch summoned all the school boys from the plane crash so they might decide what to do.
- Jacks in charge of the choir. They can be- what do you want them to be?
- Hunters.
- The boys who voted for Ralph, which seemed to be the majority, stood behind him and raised their hands at his honor. The choir boys, the only ones voting for Jack as leader rose their hands at his command.
- Listen, everybody. I can't decide what to do straight off. If this isn't an island we might be rescued straight away. So we've got to decide if this is an island.. Three of us-will go on a expedition and find out. I'll go, and Jack, and, and .. Simon.
- Ralph saw how upset Jack was when Ralph was elected leader so he put him in charge of the choir boys.
- C'mon were explorers. We'll go to the end of the island and look around the corner.
- You three will be exploring the island with me.
- Jack assigns the choir boys as a group of hunters for the island.
- What are these tracks?
- No they are Animal.
- Human?
- Because of the new environment they are surronded by, Ralph felt the need to explore the island.
- This is real exploring. I bet nobody's been here before.
- Ralph chose Simon and Jack to explore and see if the place they landed was an island.
- While exploring the island the boys found a track of animal print. They discover there is some sort of animal living on the island.
- Filled with excitement the boys continued to explore the island. Bonding over their fascination with the unruly jungle.
- Wacco!
- We ought to draw a map.
