- We need to figure out a way to get money to pay off our debts from the french and indian war. What do you suggest we do?
- I suggest that we should tax the colonists.
- We didn't ask to be taxed! The British are forcing us against our will!
- Some people are smuggling goods as we speak, just so we wont get taxed for them.
- We are passing a new act called sugar act. It will lower the taxes on the molasses imported on the colonists to try to stop smuggling.Any accused smugglers will not be sent to court and their goods will be seized by the officers.
- Have you heard about the sugar act? It is violating our rights! We are British citizens!
- We have a right to a trial by jury and to be viewed as innocent until proved guilty!
- We all have our rights! Stop violating our rights and change the rules! This is unbelievable and pathetic!
- You must obey us and follow our rules!
- Only our own group could be able to tax us!
- We have rights!
