- Distant Unions
- Two different people from two different backgrounds were pre-destined to meet. Those fantastic individuals were my mother and father. My mother is from the Caribbean, the island of Sanfrando, Trinidad, West Indies and my father is from Central America, Caracas, Venezuela. My mother at the young age of 16 decided with her free will and spirit to migrate. Along with her dreams to fly on a plane to another destination and experience the world. She used to tell me that in her backyard there was a handmade swing that she used to sit o. and she used to see the planes and one day wish she could travel abroad. In my mother's journey or first encounter in Venezuela, she meet my future godparents who had migrated from Grenada and to Venezuela, as well. They automatically became best friends and they taught my mother how to speak the language, which was Spanish. Since my godparents lived in Venezuela for so long they mastered the language and so did my mother, who said if it wasn't for them the people would still make fun of her because she didn't understand the language fully. But with practice and determination and watching Novelas which are soap opera shows she learned Spanish.
