Lenin, head of the Bolsheviks, overthrew the Provisional Government through using his writing to unit the Bolshevik party, and he formed the Military Revolutionary Committee. He also wrote to persuade the Russian people to accept Socialists' rule.
Victory to the Bolsheviks and the Soviet Union
As the Bolsheviks consolidated their power in Russia, their peace treaty with Germany angered the other political groups in Russia, such as the White Army. Stalin was the Secretary-General of the Central Committee, a strategist, tactician who Lenin trusted. His contributions in the Civil War also helped him increase his power in the government.
Trotsky was an efficient Bolshevik military leader who formed the Royal Red Army and appointed secret polices called the Chekha to target their opponents. He was vital in leading the Bolsheviks to victory, and his accomplishments secured him a place in the Politburo of the Soviet Union.
The Bolshevik Red Army won the Civil War, and Lenin established the Soviet Union. After Lenin’s death in 1924, Stalin established dictatorship in Russia and ended democracy.
