- The goal of the Olympics is to help build a better and more peaceful world through international cooperation, friendship and the love of the games.
- In just two Olympics, the six-foot-tall American managed to establish himself as one of the most successful athletes in all of history with a total of 11 Olympic swimming medals.
- Japanese elegance and discipline would, imperatively, have to pay off in an Olympic Games. The Japanese gymnast stood out among the fierce battle that the Soviet Union and Japan fought in gymnastics.
- Coming down from the coldest Scandinavian mountains, the Norwegian skier descended like lightning in winter to hang 12 medals around his neck. The Nordic giant is considered one of the best and most talented athletes in history.
